How do I get a Licence
There is no clear procedure for regulating online casinos. At the legislative level, amendments have been made to the Criminal Code of the Netherlands Antilles, which mentions the virtual gambling industry.
The National Ordinance on Online Gambling (Landsverordening Buitengaatse Hazardspelen), which is now a regulation, states that a legal entity can obtain a licence:
- registered in the Netherlands Antilles
- who paid the fee for issuing a licence (the amount is unknown)
- providing a description of the structure of the company and the procedure for carrying out gambling activities
- proven financial viability
The Licence is not transferable and it is the Governor who signs it and he is the one who can cancel it.
Online Licence Authority
In theory, the Curacao Council issues cross-licenses for online casinos. They can be used in countries around the world where the virtual gambling industry is legal. However, until a clear licensing procedure is developed, the Curaçao Gaming Control Board's approval is not very authoritative.
The Curaçao Gambling Control Council regulates and licences the land-based and online casino, lottery and bingo industry in Curacao. Its representatives monitor compliance with local anti-money laundering laws and regulations.
The Curaçao Gambling Control Council is committed to protecting the interests of the players, as well as the integrity and stability of the Curaçao Gambling Industry. They ensure that all games are played in an honest and responsible manner.
Not yet. Therefore, to obtain permission, it is better to contact the Minister of Justice of Curaçao.
In addition to revoking the license, the holder can be punished with a prison term of up to two years or a fine of up to 6,000 Netherland Antillean Guilders.
